Professional Learning Grounded in BC Educational Priorities

EAP Consultants provide professional development, training, and presentations for small and large groups across school and community settings. Our sessions are aligned with provincial priorities related to neurodiversity, inclusive education, student well‑being and Positive Behaviour Support (PBS).
Our professional learning is practical, collaborative, and rooted in neurodiversity‑affirming, evidence‑based practice. We focus on supporting educators and school teams to build shared understanding, confidence, and capacity to meet the needs of diverse learners within everyday classroom and school routines.
Rather than delivering one‑size‑fits‑all content, our trainings are designed to support meaningful, sustainable change that fits within real school contexts.
What Our Trainings Look Like
Our professional development sessions are interactive, strengths‑based, and grounded in the realities of school life. We emphasize strategies that support access, regulation, and belonging, while respecting student dignity and autonomy.
You can expect our trainings to:
-
Align with inclusive education and student support frameworks used across BC
-
Reflect trauma‑informed and regulation‑focused practices
-
Emphasize prevention and proactive support within MTSS/PBS models
-
Support ethical, assent‑based approaches to behaviour and learning
-
Provide concrete tools that can be applied immediately in classrooms and schools
-
Create space for reflection, discussion, and problem‑solving with school teams

We recognize educators as skilled professionals and design sessions that build on existing knowledge while introducing practical, evidence‑informed strategies.
A Neurodiversity‑Affirming, Student‑Centred Lens
All professional development offered by EAP is grounded in neurodiversity‑affirming principles and aligned with provincial commitments to inclusion and student well‑being.
This means our trainings:
-
Move away from compliance‑based and deficit‑focused approaches
-
Prioritize and highlight neurodivergent perspectives and experiences
-
Emphasize dignity, autonomy, and student voice
-
Respect all forms of communication, including AAC and non‑verbal expression
-
Support regulation and felt safety as foundations for learning
-
Focus on adapting environments, routines, and expectations rather than changing the student

Our goal is to support school communities in developing shared practices that are ethical, compassionate, and responsive to the needs of all learners.
