Social/Interest Groups for Neurodivergent Children & Youth

We are excited to begin offering neurodiversity‑affirming, interest‑based social groups for school-aged children and youth designed to support genuine connection with peers who share similar passions. An initial intake meeting with the group facilitator helps us understand and prioritize each youth’s preferences, strengths, support needs, and goals.

Initial themes (as recommended by our neurodivergent youth advisors) may include science fiction movie critique, neurodivergent pride, book club, Minecraft, Animal Crossing, cosplay and much much more. If you have an idea for a theme, we'd love to hear it! Fill out our waitlist for below.

Daytime groups will be available for home learners!

All groups have been co‑designed with neurodivergent youth and professionals, and some groups will include neurodivergent youth mentors!  Each group includes a maximum of 6 youth participants to support comfort, regulation, and meaningful interaction. All groups are sensory‑aware, fully supervised, and run by the EAP team. Individualized supports are available as needed, with an emphasis on autonomy, choice, and authentic connection. Groups run for 6-weeks  and are 1.5-2 hours long depending on the group.

Individualized 1:1 group access supports are available for youth who require additional support to participate safely and comfortably in group sessions. These supports are provided during group time and focus on regulation, communication, and access in an assent‑based, neurodiversity‑affirming manner. Alternatively, participants may attend with their own BI or EA support, when appropriate and approved, to support access and participation within the group.

Starting at $600/ 6-week group. With approval, groups may be funded through AFU, OL/IE or other funding.

We’re excited to begin offering groups in May 2026 in Surrey and Vancouver in Fall 2026. Registration opening soon!

Self‑Identity Workshop Series for Neurodivergent Youth (Grades 3–12)

We offer a neurodiversity‑affirming self‑identity workshop series for neurodivergent home‑learning youth, focused on building self‑understanding, confidence, connection, and self‑advocacy. An initial intake meeting with the group facilitator helps us understand and prioritize each youth’s preferences, strengths, support needs, and goals.

Through short, engaging lessons, interactive activities, and games, participants explore neurodiversity and brain differences, identify their strengths, preferences, and support needs, and practice self‑advocacy skills in a supportive, youth‑centered environment.

The series is run by our EAP team under the supervision of a BCBA and has been co‑designed with neurodivergent youth with a focus on neurodivergent-designed resources. Groups are small and sensory‑aware, with meaningful opportunities for social connection. 1:1 individualized supports are available as needed to support comfort, participation, and regulation, always respecting assent and choice.

Groups are flexibly formed by grade range, depending on enrollment and developmental fit.

Some groups will be co‑run or supported by neurodivergent youth mentors, offering relatable role models and peer leadership. Youth who are interested in leadership may also have opportunities to participate in our Youth Mentorship Training Program, launching Winter 2026-2027.

The workshops run for 6 weeks, with 1.5‑2 hour sessions during the school day.

Starting at $600/workshop series. With approval, workshops may be funded through AFU, OL/IE or other funding.
